Dear Colleague
Please find correspondence HERE from Kathryn Turner, Pharmacy Lead, Strategic Planning and Performance Group.

SUMMARY

  • Evaluations for the last campaign, “Making Healthier Choices”, can now be submitted. This survey is available from 4 April 2022 and should have been completed by 2 May 2022. It can be accessed at HERE.
  • It is vital that all pharmacies contracted to provide “Living Well” submit their evaluation survey after each campaign as it allows data to be collated to demonstrate the value and impact of the service to other sectors.
  • Compliance will be monitored with the service requirements, in particular evaluation submission. Where failure has been identified to comply, such as failure to submit evaluation data, the right to recover all, or part of, this funding via an adjustment to the pharmacy’s BSO payment account is reserved.

ACTION

  • Contractors are asked to review the correspondence.
  • Submit evaluations for the last campaign, “Making Healthier Choices” as soon as possible. It can be accessed at HERE.
  • Please do not hesitate to contact the CPNI office should you require any further information.

Kind regards

Dear Colleague
Please find correspondence HERE from SPPG Pharmacy and Medicines Management team.

SUMMARY

  • If you are planning to vaccinate a care home, please complete the e-form to assure us that plans are now in place to deliver the Spring booster programme in all Care Homes.
  • The PHA has issued correspondence to Care Home Managers, which provides details for LFD testing by visiting professionals to Care Homes.
  • Pharmacies should continue to plan vaccination clinic dates for those homes that are experiencing an outbreak. Whether a care home outbreak is declared or not, the PHA Duty Room will continue to provide advice to Care Home Managers on further actions to take.
  • Prior to the visit to a Care Home, the pharmacist clinical lead should ask the care home manager to inform them of any residents undergoing Aerosol Generating procedures.
  • claim form is available for contractors wishing to claim eligible off-site fees for clinics
delivered at Care Homes during April and May 2022.
  • JCVI has not included Care Home Staff as an identified cohort for the COVID-19 spring booster. However when visiting a care home to vaccinate the residents with the Spring booster, it would be possible for a community pharmacy to arrange to vaccinate the staff members who have not received their first or second primary dose or their first booster dose.
  • PHA COVID-19 vaccine toolkit has now been published HERE, which aims to support organisations in promoting the Covid-19 vaccine and increasing uptake.
  • MHRA recently provided an update reassuring on safety and that the vaccine can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding which can be accessed HERE.

ACTION

  • Contractors are asked to review the correspondence.
  • Please complete e-form submissions as soon as you have agreed an arrangement to provide vaccinations to a Care Home.
  • Contractors are reminded if they have any queries relating to the CPVS service requiring input from a Pharmacy Adviser, they should contact their local office/adviser.
  • Please do not hesitate to contact the CPNI office should you require any further information.
